Methodology

How the index and the other figures of the price area are calculated, and where the data comes from.

The price engine is not reachable right now. Shown: the last data received, as of Oct 25, 2026, 21:05 UTC.

How a price gets into the index

  1. SourcesPublic price lists and official pricing APIs of the providers.
  2. ChecksCurrency, GPU count, location and pricing model are checked; implausible prices are held back.
  3. IndexComparable on-demand prices of direct providers form the index of each GPU.
  4. PublicationEvery price is published with source and date; the index updates every day.

The main figure in three sentences

  1. The index is the typical price of a GPU: the median of the cheapest on-demand price per GPU-hour of each direct provider (hyperscalers excluded), taken from the provider's latest live fetch within the last 3 days, with outliers removed; it is shown only when at least 3 providers have a price.
  2. The cheapest current offer is the single lowest comparable on-demand price of any provider and source, including hyperscalers and published prices up to 14 days old.
  3. Changes over 1, 7 and 30 days and the price chart use the same daily index, and a change compares only providers with a price on both days, so a provider joining or leaving does not move the number.

Rules

  • Index only with prices from at least 3 providers.
  • Each provider counts with its latest live retrieval within the last 3 days.
  • Outliers below 1/3 or above 3 times the median are excluded.
  • Community capacity, GPU-only partial prices, 'from' prices and offers without a stated pricing model are shown but not counted.

Definition of each figure

index
median across direct providers (hyperscalers excluded) of each provider's cheapest comparable on-demand price per GPU-hour from its latest live retrieval within the last 3 days (official API, public price page or partner feed), outliers (below 1/3 or above 3x the median) excluded; published only with at least 3 providers
median
Same value and basis as index (kept for compatibility).
indexProviders
Number of direct providers in the index today.
cheapestCurrentOffer
lowest current comparable on-demand price per GPU-hour of all providers and sources (live, published within 14 days, hyperscalers included), outliers excluded
providers
All providers with a current offer for this GPU (GPU-only partial prices and offers without a stated pricing model excluded), any source and pricing model, hyperscalers included; usually more than indexProviders.
countries
Countries of all current offers, from the provider's region code or its published location list; offersWithoutLocation counts offers whose location the provider does not state.
change
Change of the index against the last value on or before 1, 7 or 30 days ago, over the providers with prices on both days.
chart
Daily index (median) and daily candle: index value at the end of every hour with a fetch; close equals the daily value. Days with fewer than 3 providers have no index value.
high52w
Highest and lowest daily index of the last 52 weeks; until 52 weeks of data exist, counted from dataSince.
volatility
Annualised standard deviation of daily index changes, from 20 (30 days) or 120 (180 days) daily changes.

Data sources

Official pricing APIs and public price lists of the providers, each price with provider, GPU, location, original currency, time and source. Compliance facts from provider documents and public registers.

Sources of the compliance profile

  • Provider documents: legal notice, terms of service, data processing agreement, service level agreement, trust and compliance pages, certificate PDFs, region and location pages.
  • Public registers: commercial registers (e.g. Companies House, Swiss and EU commercial registers), stock exchange filings and annual reports.
  • Certification bodies and public lists where available (e.g. BSI C5 attestation reports, ANSSI SecNumCloud list, EU Cloud CoC public register).
  • Press articles only as a supplement and marked as such in the evidence.
contractEntity
Company that contracts with customers in the EU/Switzerland, with its seat, as stated in the provider's terms or legal notice.
ultimateParent
Top company of the group (or the controlling individual, if published in a register).
usParentOrControl
yes = the provider or its ultimate parent is a US company or controlled by one (majority or control documented); no = documented non-US seat and parent and no known US control; unclear = not documentable. Recorded as a fact only, no assessment.
certificates
Only certificates held by the provider itself (not those of a colocation data center), with issuer, scope, expiry date and evidence link. Planned or 'aligned' certifications are not listed. Expiry dates are monitored daily; expired certificates are marked as expired.
dpaSla
yes = publicly available document (link); no_public = only on request or not found; unclear = not determinable.
dataCenter
Country and city of the data center for the offer's region, from the provider's region or location documentation. If only the region code of the provider's price API is known, the country is derived from it and marked as such.
dataResidency
EU, CH, EEA (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), other, or unclear (location not stated).

Updates

Prices are fetched hourly from APIs and about once a day from price pages. The website reloads the data every 15 minutes.

Certificates: expiry checked daily, sources re-checked at least quarterly. Ownership, contracting entity, DPA and SLA: re-checked at least quarterly and when news about the provider (acquisitions, new entities) is detected. Locations: with every new region of a provider.

Currency conversion

Prices are stored in their original currency and converted with the ECB reference rates of Oct 23, 2026.

Limits

  • Offers without a stated location appear in lists, but never in a country filter or on the map.
  • List prices do not guarantee available capacity.
  • «from» prices and GPU-only prices are shown but not counted.
  • Charts start once 14 days of index data exist.
  • Missing information is left empty and marked 'unclear' with a reason. Nothing is estimated or inferred.
  • Filters only match documented values; 'unclear' never satisfies a filter.
  • Every value carries its source and the date it was checked.
  • Second, independent check: ultimate parent, US parent or control, certificates (incl. expiry date) and data center locations are re-checked by a separate review that searches its own primary sources. Only values it confirms are marked 'verified' with date and source; all other values, including corrected ones and the contracting entity, DPA and SLA, are marked 'not yet verified'.

The profile records facts from public sources. It is not legal advice and does not state whether a provider or offer is compliant with any law or regulation (for example GDPR, revFADP, FINMA circulars, DORA or the US CLOUD Act). Customers must verify the contract documents for their use case.
